Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman quarterback Brandon Brown (Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary) was recently named both Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Player and Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Sunday evening.
The first-year signal caller picks up his first two weekly honors on the year after totaling 158 yards of offense. Brown threw for 95 yards on 15-of-19 passes and two TD's through the air, including his first collegiate touchdown pass as well as running for 65 yards on 11 carries and a pair of touchdowns on the ground.
In Addition, Brandon also threw for one two-point conversion and ran in a second conversion attempt in the Falcons 36-20 victory over the Buccaneers of Mass. Maritime Academy on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State football team (1-4, 1-2 MASCAC) returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 6th as it travels to Framingham State to take on the Rams with a kickoff slated for 12:00 PM.
