Sousa Selected LEC Field Hockey Defensive Player Of The Week
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman forward Sophia Sousa (Dartmouth, Mass.) was recently named Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Dartmouth, Mass. native earns second weekly accolade of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman forward Sophia Sousa (Dartmouth, Mass.) was recently named Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The first-year forward receives her second week honor of the year after collecting one assist and a pair of defensive saves for Fitchburg State in a 2-1 double overtime, shootout victory over Westfield State University on Thursday evening.
The Fitchburg State field hockey team (2-11, 1-6 LEC) returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to Keene State College to take on the Owls for a conference bout, starting at 6:30 PM.
