Narkevicius' Hat Trick Leads Field Hockey Past Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, MA: Fitchburg State field hockey picked up its fifth straight win after taking down the Bears of Bridgewater State this afternoon in conference action.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/12/24

- Score: Fitchburg 5, Bridgewater 0

- Records: Fitchburg (6-6, 5-0 MASCAC), Bridgewater (3-7, 1-4 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  After a scoreless first half, the Falcons would come out of the break and rattle off five consecutive goals. Sophia Yates (Woodstock, VT) would get things started in the 36^th minute. Olivia Narkevicius (Phillipston, MA) would net the next one at the conclusion of the third quarter.  

- Yates would get the fourth started with her second of the game and eighth goal of the season, giving the Falcons a 3-0 lead. The final two goals would come from Narkevicius in the 49^th and 56^th minutes, giving her the hat trick and her fifth and sixth goals of the year.

- Isabella Corcoran (Braintree, MA) got her first collegiate win (1-1) this afternoon after making all four saves needed to complete the shutout. Brianna Gagnon suffered the loss (2-7) after surrendering the five goals. She did make nine saves for the Bears.
