London notches third double-double of the season with a game-high 25 points
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (February 16, 2010) - Senior Colin London (Worcester, Mass./Doherty) collected a game-high 25 points to propel Fitchburg State past MCLA, 76-69 in MASCAC action this evening.

London led a sure-fire Fitchburg State attack, hitting 7-of-13 from the floor and 11-of-13 from the charity stripe. The versatile forward added 11 rebounds and three assists to the offensive mix, while notching his third double-double of the season. Classmate Timothy Graham (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) was also strong with 14 points and six boards, while freshman Blake Sheldon (Westminster, Mass./Oakmont) finished with 11, hitting 3-of-6 from downtown.
Junior Jon Greenberg (Antwerp, Belgium/Dennis-Yarmouth) led the MCLA attack with a double-double, totaling a team-high 22 points and game-best 16 rebounds. The veteran center shot 9-of-20 from the floor while brining in ten offensive rebounds. Sophomore Chris Harris (Dorchester, Mass./John D. O'Bryant) rounded out the Trailblazer attack with 18 points and six caroms.
Fitchburg State rushed out to a seven point lead at the end of the first half, using an 11-2 run and shooting 44.4% in the process. Graham led the Falcon first half explosion with 12 of his 14 points, while London registered eight points and six boards.
The Falcons opened a nine point advantage by the 12:11 mark of the first, as London capped a Fitchburg State, 11-2 surge with a basket from the post. Sheldon lifted the Falcons to a double-digit lead (11) with a trey at 8:42, and Fitchburg State maintained its double-figure lead for most of the frame, including a 13 margin following a Steven Verdi (Revere, Mass./Malden) lay-up.
In the second period, Fitchburg State never relinquished its lead, using a 17 point, second half by London to secure its eighth victory of the season. Verdi and Sheldon each connected for eight points in the half, while the Falcons limited the Trailblazer to only 1-of-8 shooting from three point range.
Fitchburg State (8-16, 3-8 MASCAC) will be in action again on Saturday as it hosts Westfield State College at 3 p.m. MCLA (9-14, 3-8 MASCAC) will travel to Bridgewater State College on Saturday at 4 p.m.
