Montreal, Quebec native collects first accolade of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. (November 4, 2013) – Freshman Jake Martin (Montreal, Quebec) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office Sunday evening.
The freshman forward collects his first weekly honor of the season after registering two points on one score and one assist, including the game-winning tally as the Fitchburg State ice hockey team defeated Becker College, 4-1 on Friday evening in first round action of the 2013 ICFCU Shootout hosted by Fitchburg State University over the weekend.
The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (1-1-0, 0-0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as it hosts the Pilgrims of New England College for a contest starting at 7 p.m.
