Fitchburg State to Host 6th Annual ICFCU Shootout
The Fitchburg State ice hockey team will kick off their 2014-15 season hosting the sixth annual IC Federal Credit Union Shootout this Friday, October 31st.
FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State ice hockey team will open their 2014-15 season hosting the sixth annual IC Federal Credit Union Shootout this Friday, October 31st.
Fitchburg State is teaming up with the IC Federal Credit Union (ICFCU) and is set to host one of the most elite new england ice hockey tournaments this fall. The ICFCU has been a local banking provider since 1928 and has been consistently dedicating itself to the Fitchburg community. The ICFCU has become one of the largest credit unions in the state of Massachusetts.
Fitchburg State will kick-off the four-team classic on Friday as teams from Wentworth, Becker and Worcester State battle in the two-day tournament.
The sixth annual ICFCU Shootout opens on Halloween night with Wentworth and Worcester State squaring off at 5:00 pm, while the Falcons will entertain Becker College at 8:00 pm in first round action. On Saturday, Becker will take on Worcester State at 1:15 pm, while Fitchburg State hosts the Leopards of Wentworth at 4:00 pm to close out tournament play.
"We are extremely pleased to partner with the IC Federal Credit Union for the sixth annual shootout", said head hockey coach, Dean Fuller. "It is a great opportunity to give the Fitchburg community a great hockey tournament."
Friday night will also be the innaugural "Spook the Civic Center", where fans are encouraged to dress in their Halloween costumes.
