FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman goalkeeper Charles Jakobsson was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The freshman goalkeeper earns his first weekly accolade of the season after stopping 38 of the 40 shots he faced with a save percentage of .950 and a goals against average of 2.00 in the Falcons 6-2 win over Franklin Pierce University on Saturday evening.
The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (5-4-1, 2-3-1 MASCAC) returns to action following the winter break as it battles Plattsburgh State in opening round action of the 2015-16 WB Mason/Buck Supply Winter Classic on Friday, January 1st at 7 p.m. Hosted by Plattsburgh State.
