FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman forward Sascha Figi (Kloten, Switzerland) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman forward Sascha Figi (Kloten, Switzerland) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The first-year Falcon earns his second weekly accolade of the season after totaling four points on two goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Green and Gold. Figi registered one assist in a 4-1 win over Stonehill College in opening round action of the Steve Hoar Memorial Invitational on Saturday before adding two scores and one helper in an 8-3 triumph against Becker College in the championship game on Sunday evening..
The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (6-2-1, 2-1-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as it travels to Westfield State University to take on the Owls for a contest starting at 7:35 P.M.
