MASCAC Men’s Indoor Track Pre-Season Poll Announced

Falcons picked third with a total of four points

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's indoor track and field team was recently selected third in the 2017-18 MASCAC Pre-Season Coaches Poll as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon.

The Bears of Bridgewater State and the Lancers of Worcester State were selected as the pre-season favorites to win the 2017-18 MASCAC Men's Indoor Track & Field title with both schools amassing a total of eight points after splitting the four first place ballots (two apiece).

Following in the third slot was Fitchburg State with a total of four points, while the Owls of Westfield State tied for third with the Falcons after collected four points as well in the 2017-18 MASCAC Men's Indoor Track & Field preseason poll.

 The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
