FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman pitcher Kaylee Sylvestre was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The first year-Falcon picks up her first weekly honor of the 2016 season after pitching four perfect innings with eight strikeouts as well as going a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish with a double in an 8-0 game two shutout victory over the Buccaneers of Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Saturday afternoon.
The Fitchburg State softball team (10-8, 3-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to Curry College on Wednesday for a non-conference double header, starting at 3 p.m.
