Rose Tabbed MASCAC and WACBA Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week

Rockland, Mass. native earns sixth weekly honor of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman guard Kyra Rose was recently selected both Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) and Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference offices earlier this week.
Rose picks up her fourth consecutive and sixth overall weekly honor of the season after averaging 22.5 points, ten rebounds, 4.5 assists and one steal per contest in two games for the Green and Gold. The first-year Falcon netted a game-best 31 points, 16 rebounds and three assists in an 85-60 setback to Bridgewater State on Wednesday before adding 14 points, four boards, six assists and two steals in a 74-62 setback to Worcester State on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State women's basketball team (5-7, 0-3 MASCAC) returns to action on Monday as it hosts the Eagles of Green Mountain College for a contest starting at 5 p.m.
