Rose Named MASCAC And NEWBA Women’s Basketball Rookie Of The Week
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman guard Kyra Rose was selected both Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) and New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference offices on Monday.

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman guard Kyra Rose was selected was selected both Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) and New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference offices on Monday.
Rose earns her fifth straight and seventh overall weekly accolade on the year after averaging 14.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per contest in three games for the Falcons. The first-year Falcon registered a game-best 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 67-27 win over Green Mountain on Monday before adding seven points, eight caroms, two assists and one block in a 62-38 setback to MCLA on Wednesday.
Kyra rounded out the week, posting a double-double of 23 points and ten rebounds to go along with four assists, four steals and three blocks in a 76-61 win over the Vikings of Salem State University on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State women's basketball team (7-8, 1-4 MASCAC) returns to action on Monday as it travels to Dean College to take on the Bulldogs at 5 p.m.
