MASCAC Women’s Basketball Pre-Season Poll Announced
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women’s basketball team was selected fifth in the 2021-22 MASCAC Women’s Basketball Pre-Season Coaches Poll with a total of 15 points as announced by the league office Thursday morning.

Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's basketball team was selected fifth in the 2021-22 MASCAC Women's Basketball Pre-Season Coaches Poll with a total of 15 points as announced by the league office Thursday morning.
The Rams of Framingham State were selected to win the 2021-22 MASCAC Women's Basketball title after garnering five of the seven first place ballots for a total of 34 points to outdistance second place Westfield State's total of 30 points, which included one first place vote.
Next up was Bridgewater State in the third spot with a total of 25, while Worcester State followed in fourth with 24 points. Sitting in fifth was the Falcons of Fitchburg State University with 15 points, while Salem State and MCLA closed out this year's preseason poll in sixth and seventh with 13 and six points respectively.
The Fitchburg State women's basketball team opens its 2021-22 season on Friday, November 5th as they host the Lions of Eastern Nazarene College in non-conference action, starting at 6:00 PM.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's first Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC core member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
