Fitchburg State Coaches Will Be Featured Speakers at the 2016 New England Lacrosse Convention
GROTON Mass. - Mass Bay Girls Lacrosse League (MBGLL), Eastern Massachusetts Girls Lacrosse Coaches Association (EMGLCA, Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLA), Eastern Massachusetts Lacrosse Officials Association (EMLOA) are pleased to announce the 2016 New England Lacrosse Convention scheduled on March 6 from 9a – 2p at Medford High School, Medford MA. Thirty speakers from the East Coast - including Fitchburg State women's lacrosse coaches Rick Terrio & Bina Milger - are converging on Medford Massachusetts to participate in this annual event. It is a fantastic opportunity for coaches from New England (who are unable to travel to the US Lacrosse National Convention) to learn from some of the best trainers in lacrosse.

Topics will range from offensive strategy, defensive tips, transitions, rules, injury prevention, technology, communication and the US Lacrosse athletic model for putting players first.
The Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of US Lacrosse (EMASS) is helping to sponsor the event. Kevin McDonald, President of EMASS says, "The New England Lacrosse Convention is a really important event for our chapter. Part of our chapter's mission is to help educate coaches, administrators and officials and this event is our largest initiative towards that goal."
Christine Habermann, Executive Director of MBGLL, states "It is amazing to see the New England lacrosse community come together for this regional convention. This year the New England Lacrosse Convention will feature local vendors. Coaches should come prepared to negotiate pre-season packages and to purchase supplies for the lacrosse season. All coaches of the women's and men's games from U9 through High School and men's officials are invited to attend. The convention has scheduled topics that are appropriate for coaches and men's officials at each level of play.

Late Registration (Feb. 16 – Mar 5) is $55. Walk-in registration starts at 8:30am on March 6 and is $65 (check payments). High School Women's Coaches' registrations include membership in EMGLCA. US Lacrosse membership is required for attendance. Coaches are encouraged to sign up early to take advantage of the scaled pricing.
