Women’s Lacrosse Picked Sixth In Pre-Season Poll
FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women’s lacrosse team was recently picked sixth overall in the 2022 MASCAC Women’s Lacrosse Pre-Season Poll with a total of 17 points as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team was recently picked sixth overall in the 2022 MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Pre-Season Poll with a total of 17 points as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
The Owls of Westfield State University were selected to win the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse championship in a vote of the league's coaches. After collecting a total of 49 points, including seven of the eight first place ballots.
Worcester State followed in second with a total of 41 points, including the remaining first place vote. Framingham State was picked to finish third with 36 points, while Bridgewater State was next, registering 34 points after being selected fourth.
Sitting in fifth was Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a total of 25 points, while the Falcons of Fitchburg State were picked sixth after amassing 17 points. Salem State and MCLA rounded out this year's poll in seventh and eighth place with 15 points and seven points respectively.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in the sport of football for the 2013-14 academic year.
