Women’s Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award
The Fitchburg State women’s soccer team was recently honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 academic year.
Falcons finish 2009-10 academic year with astounding 3.13 Team GPA
FITCHBURG, Mass. (February 17, 2011) – The Fitchburg State women’s soccer team was recently honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 academic year.
A total of 641 soccer teams (196 men, 445 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 academic year. Under head coach, Bruce Walberg, Fitchburg State recorded a cumulative 3.13 Team GPA, earning just the second NSCAA academic honor in Fitchburg State women’s soccer history (2002).
Members of the 2009-10 team include: Emily Swan, Katrina Marrone, Julie Dowson, Lauren Wundt, Jen Tabor, Carissa Kennedy, Olivia Schnorf, Ali Landry, Samantha Bonasera, Elise Gallagher, Courtney Kimball, Brittney Anderson, Lindsay Taylor, Kellsie Reimondo, Shannon Zononi, Erica Graves, Melanie Olson, Julie Almstrom, Alycia McGrail, Meagan Belanger, Hannah Mitchell, Brenna Flynn, Jennifer Glover, Kyla Batchelder, Katelyn Christiansen, and Melanie Berent.
