Women’s Soccer Match Suspended With Nichols

Game ended due to severe rain and lighting

DUDLEY, Mass. (September 29, 2011) – Thursday’s women’s soccer non-conference matchup between Nichols College and Fitchburg State University has been suspended per mutual agreement between the respective head coaches following a pair of lightning delays.

The match was a 0-0 stalemate heading into the second half before a bolt of lightning interrupted the contest with 43:33 left on the scoreboard.

A new date and time have not yet been announced.

Fitchburg State (8-1, 2-0 MASCAC) will be back in action on Saturday as it travels to Westfield State at 12 p.m. Nichols entertains University of New England on Saturday with a match scheduled for  3 p.m.
