Kirouac Earns MASCAC Player Of The Week Honors

FITCHBURG, Mass. (September 27, 2011) – Sophomore Jillian Kirouac (Leominster, Mass./Leominster) was named the MASCAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Kirouac collects her first weekly honor of the season after leading the Fitchburg State women’s soccer team to a perfect 2-0 week. The sophomore net-minder made 21 saves in a pair of shutout efforts over the week, including 11 stops in a 1-0 double-overtime triumph vs. Bridgewater State and ten saves in a 1-0 overtime win vs. UMass Boston.
This season, Kirouac has been stellar, registering a minimal 0.93 goals against average over eight games played. She has totaled 36 saves over her 584 minutes played en route to a .857 save percentage and three shutouts.
Kirouac and the Fitchburg State women’s soccer team (7-1, 2-0 MASCAC) will be back in action tonight as they host Curry College at 7 p.m.
